A bit more about Audrey...

Audrey Dempsey BEM – A Voice That Comes From the Community, Not Above It

Audrey Dempsey is a proud working-class woman, born and raised in Glasgow’s East End, where she still lives today. She has never left her community behind—because it has never left her.

Audrey doesn’t speak about the struggles people face from a distance; she lives them, understands them, and fights against them every single day.

As the founder and driving force behind a frontline charity that has supported over 60,000 people in 9 years, Audrey has dedicated her life to helping those facing hardship, poverty, and crisis. From providing essential goods to families with nothing, to supporting people through addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges, her work has been immediate, practical, and life-changing. She has helped redistribute millions of pounds worth of goods back into communities that needed them most—without red tape, delay, or judgement.

Audrey is not a career politician. She is a doer, a grafter, and a relentless advocate for people who are too often ignored. Her experience is not built in offices or committees, but on the streets, in homes, and alongside the people she serves. She has seen first-hand where systems fail and she is not afraid to say so.

Awarded a BEM for her services to the community, Audrey remains grounded, driven by the same purpose she started with: to make life better, fairer, and more hopeful for ordinary people. She believes in real change, not empty promises and she brings the courage to challenge the status quo when it isn’t working.

A mum and a gran, Audrey understands the pressures families face today, from the cost of living crisis to concerns about safety, housing, and opportunity. She stands firmly for dignity, fairness, and the belief that no one should be left behind.

Audrey Dempsey isn’t just speaking for the working class……..she is the working class. And she’s ready to make sure their voices are finally heard.
